The Buzzy Bee Writing Club

13 Nov

This productive and illustrious Club co-ordinated by Ms. Iman has been running for almost two years and in that time the student members have scripted many a word on different and interesting topics. Their creative pieces of work have been proudly displayed in our Quadrangle for all the school community to peruse. The children who are members also get rewarded for their efforts by way of special treats such as books, stationery and board games. Many, many thanks should be given to Ms. Iman for her tireless work in organising activities, buying the rewards and often gift-wrapping them too to make this appealing to the members of this Club. Many hours are spent preparing all this of which, the members are very appreciative. We hope more children may join this group and use their writing skills in a most creative and powerful way to convey their messages and feelings to all. Well done!!! one and all in this Club and Keep the good Work up!!!!

The Grand Opening of Our New Library

13 Nov

In early Term 4, the AIA Primary Library was officially opened by honorary members of Parliament, our esteemed Director, school heads and some parents. This occasion took place in our brand new, beautiful big hall. It was followed by the Opening of our Library which has a commemorative plaque marking the occasion on its walls and a guided tour of the dignitaries around the new buildings including the hall, library, class rooms and other specialty rooms. Last of all, a lovely morning tea was provided for the invitees to partake. It was a very memorable and historical occasion that will go down the hallmarks of our school for a very long time.

BOOK RETURNS

12 Nov

As we are fast approaching the end of term with only four weeks to go!!! Amazing but true!!! we ask you all to be responsible in returning your library books back to us in the library!!! We rely on your punctuality in returning our lovely books as we will be very busy at the end of the year ensuring they go back to their rightful place amongst the others on the shelves. Please spare us a special thought and do the right thing, return your library books on time!!! We hope you are still enjoying reading them and looking after them carefully but soon they will have to come back to the library. Try to remember when you have library time during the week and put your book(s) safely back into your library bag and into your school bag ready to drop them off to the class library tub so the monitors can do their job well too. We also take this opportunity to remind you all that you need a library DISPLAY folder for 2013!!! You must also remember to have a proper LIBRARY BAG for 2013 and beyond so you can borrow. The rule is: NO BAG, NO BORROWING!!!!!! and we wouldn’t want to see that!!!! Borrowing books from the school library is an important part of your overall school routine. Many thanks for your co-operation in doing all these three things!!!! If you need to purchase a library bag, they are available from the Uniform Shop.

Science Exhibition

12 Nov

How many wonderful scientific minds we have at school who have participated in their grades to come up with some fantastic science experiments and facts for all the school to learn about our amazing world!!! The library staff looks forward to visiting this display in the gym some time in Week 6 and we hope to see you there. Congratulations to all students and staff who worked tremendously hard in organizing such an interesting event!!! We expect to see little scientists with their white coats and glasses peering into their magnifying glasses in discovering many microbes lurking and squirming around there!!!

Year 5 Exhibition

12 Nov

The library staff would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all Year 5 students and staff members for their tremendous hard work in presenting lots of interesting and fascinating facts about their topic on Disasters either man-made or natural and how these affect our environment and people. Many a group visited the library with their helpful mentors and completed quite a lot of work on their chosen topic within the broader subject area. This week, Week 6 the students will be displaying their term’s work in the Hall for the whole school, the Year 6s, their own parents and guardians. We would like to wish them every success with their displays and Exhibition work.

The Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge

12 Nov

Quite a number of our students rose to the challenge this year and read copiously the amount of books required at their year level. In last Sunday’s Age, the 11th November, the names of students who completed the Challenge and had got their parents’ permission to have their name published, appear in the Honour Roll in the newspaper. We have also a lovely display prepared by Miss Iman on the noticeboard in the Quadrangle highlighting the names of these students. Well done to all who took on the challenge and we hope you will try again next year. We also hope that many more of you will give it a go in 2013!!!
